meet the coop
our story
Chicken Coop Creative began as a side hustle back in 2021 while Reilly was working full-time as a marketing and social media manager for a real estate brokerage. What originally started as a logo design here and a website design there, turned into a legitimate freelance marketing and design business in 2024.
Chicken Coop Creative became a platform where Reilly could channel her talents into helping other entrepreneurs and small business owners with branding, website design, and marketing strategies—all while continuing her 9-to-5 career.
For Reilly, this isn’t just a business — it’s a passion. Through Chicken Coop Creative, Reilly gets to share her creative ideas with other aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners to help them grow, succeed but most of all, live out their passions.
the meaning behind the name…
The name Chicken Coop Creative has a personal story behind it that’s near and dear to Reilly’s heart.
Growing up, “Chicken” was her childhood nickname coined by her dad - all thanks to her skinny legs. As she was brainstorming a name for her business, it felt natural to embrace it because of the tie to her childhood.
The “Coop” part? Well, that ties into her passion for DIY and home projects. Reilly has always loved getting her hands dirty so she wanted a name that reflected her creativity and hands-on approach. The idea of a coop—a place where things come together, are nurtured, and grow—felt like the perfect fit.
And of course, “Creative” had to be in the name because, let’s face it, creativity runs through Reilly’s veins. It’s what she lives for.
“For me, family is everything. I believe that when your business thrives and aligns with your passions, it allows you to create space for the people and moments that matter most. And that’s where I come in.”

Owner/Designer
Hey, I’m Reilly Zimmerman—the girl behind Chicken Coop Creative. Born and raised in Chicago, I’ve always had a creative spark and an entrepreneurial spirit. I graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Business Marketing and Creative Writing, and over the years, I’ve focused on helping businesses grow through authentic branding and smart marketing strategies.
When I am not working, I can typically be found with my favorite little crew - my husband, our daughter and little fur ball Tuna. Together, we love recreating outdoors, going on adventures, and enjoying yummy craft beer.
Whether I’m building brands or working on a personal project, creativity is at the core of everything I do. I’m passionate about helping others do the same, no matter where life takes me!
